In week five, instructor Michael Cedeno will teach you how to animate a basic progressive run, running across the page. You will discover how the centerline of a character shifts during a run. Next, Michael will show you how to apply the same principles of the progressive run to the treadmill run.
In week one, instructor Kathleen Quaife-Hodge will introduce you to the most basic walk cycle in animation; the treadmill walk. You will learn to draw the main movements of a walk; the passing, down, in-between, and up poses. Kathleen will teach you how to create a rough pencil test to plan out the character’s actions.
In week four, instructor Michael Cedeno will teach you how to animate a treadmill walk with attitude. You will watch Michael refines the rough pencil test of a character walk cycle he has created. He will show you how to adjust and push the intensity of the character’s poses.
In week two, instructor Kathleen Quaife-Hodge will spend time completing her treadmill walk animation. You will study the common mistakes when animating walk cycles. Then, Kathleen will move on to teach you how to draw the progressive walk, which is a walk across the page.
This is a step-by-step class where I will walk you through the process of creating your very own run cycle using a popular 2D animation software called Moho/ Anime Studio.
